State lawmakers approved rate increases for those covered under the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare in Maryland in 2018.
The increases will be determined by the health insurance carrier and plan, and are expected to go up by at least 23% and could go as high as 50%.
Open enrollment for 2018 runs from November 1 through December 15. During that time people can shop rates, sign up or new health care plans or renew existing ones.
