Several school districts in the area are adjusting their school calendars following a school year of winter weather and closings.

Baltimore City Public Schools

The school board approved changes to their plan for making up snow days on their school year calendar on February 12. They have used a total of three snow days in the academic year.

Officials say the snow day taken on January 14 will be made up on June 17. Snow days taken on February 11 and 12 will be made up on June 18 and 19.

If the school district closes all schools for additional snow days, the first day will be made up on June 20, the second on June 21, the third on April 15, and the fourth on April 16.

Baltimore County Public Schools

The school system has used five snow days out of the four that were built in the school calendar. School officials say they have not made decision on how they will make up the additional one day missed.

Anne Arundel County Public Schools

School officials report that they have only used one snow day out of the three that were built in the school calendar. The two snow days that are left includes a conditional day that can only be used before March 5. After March 5 there will only be one left in the calendar.

Harford County Public Schools

The school system has used five snow days out of the ten days that were built into their academic calendar (includes the five days after June 15, that were passed through legislation) leaving them with five snow days.

Howard County Public Schools

School officials report using four snow days this school year. All four of the inclement weather make-up days reserved on the school calendar have been used.

The scheduled last day of school is now June 21. The final three school days, June 19, 20 and 21, will dismiss three hours early.

Carroll County Public Schools

Officials say four snow days were built into the year. Thus far schools have been closed five days, putting them at one day over the limit.

The board will discuss extending the school year at their next meeting.

Cecil County Public Schools

Officials say four days were built in at the beginning of the school year. Three additional days are also available if needed, any of which would extend the school year.
