Nearly $17 million going toward adult education in Maryland

The Maryland Department of Labor is awarding nearly $17 million in federal funds to local organizations that support adult education.

Local education agencies, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, volunteer literacy organizations, institutions of higher education, public, private, or nonprofit agencies, libraries and public housing authorities can all submit proposals for these grant funds.

To be eligible for the funding, organizations have to submit applications to the department's Adult Education Office by 4 p.m. on March 2, 2020. An Intent to Apply notice should be submitted by February 14, 2020.
