A county in Maryland is set to be the first in the country to allow residents to refinance their student loans.
The Montgomery County Council says the program is expected to cost the county $3 million to set up. There are still questions as to who will be eligible with this bill and whether only in-state college debts receive relief.
The council is expected to vote on the bill in the coming weeks.
