A Maryland town council member has been arrested on burglary charges in northern Virginia.
Fairfax County Police said Monday that 41-year-old Selwyn Bridgeman of Bladensburg, Maryland, broke into a Fairfax apartment in January.
Bridgeman was arrested Saturday in Maryland and is currently jailed awaiting extradition.
Town officials referred questions to police. Bridgeman lost a race for mayor last year and news reports indicate he was accused of posting threats on social media after his defeat.
