Maryland students are scoring higher than average on the SAT's.... at least in English.

The College Board released Wednesday morning the results for last year's tests.

On average, Maryland students scored 536 out of 800 in English, compared to the national average of 533.

While the students exceeded in English, their math score were below average.

The average student scored a 524, which is 3 points lower than the national average.

Officials warn these scores cannot be compared to previous years because 2017 was the first year high schoolers took the redesigned SAT's.
