The Maryland man accused of helping ISIS will appear in court for a detention hearing Thursday.

Nelash Mohamed Das, 24, a citizen of Bangladesh residing in Hyattsville has been charged with attempting to provide support and resources to the Islamic State in connection with a plan to kill a U.S. military member. 

Das was arrested by FBI agents while attempting to take firearms out of his trunk. 

The charges against Das were announced Monday.

His court hearing will take place at 3:15p.m. in the U.S. District Court in Greenbelt.

Das faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
