Though gas prices have risen in recent months, prices in Baltimore have fallen 1.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging roughly $2.75 per gallon as of Sunday, according to the gasoline price tracking app Gas Buddy and website GasBuddy.com.

Nationally, the price of gas has fallen 0.9 cents per gallon, to an average of $2.80 per gallon, according to GasBuddy survey data. Compared to the same date last year, Baltimore gas prices have risen 45.6 cents per gallon, while national prices are up 46.5 cents per gallon.

"With summer gasoline now phased in and reaching motorists gas tanks across the country, it is no longer an active issue pushing prices up, " said Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy. "Oil's moves and possible moves will likely be the key catalyst behind changes at the pump in the weeks ahead as summer driving season soon gets underway. Motorists should expect the national average to drift around in the upper $2 per gallon range for much of the summer."
