Man pleads guilty to 2014 death of rock climber

A Bristow, Va. man will spend 10 to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter for the December 2013 death of a rock climber in Carderock.

According to U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein, Davd DiPaolo hit the victim in his head with a claw hammer multiple times following an argument in the parking area at Carderock Recreation Area in the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park in Bethesda.

DiPaolo then drive to New York, where he remained until he was arrested on Jan. 8, 2014.

DiPaolo will be sentenced May 9.
