A man is dead after he was hit by a semi-trailer truck and flipped over multiple times Tuesday morning, according to Maryland State Police.

Around 4:10 a.m. troopers responded to a serious two-car crash on northbound Route 15 and Angleberger Road. There, they found Jacob Middleton Johnson III, 74, and Matthew Michael Mcllveen,

Preliminary investigations reveal Johnson was driving west on Angleberger Road trying to cross northbound Route 15 when he was hit on the driver's side by a semi-trailer truck operated by Mcllveen. Johnson then flipped several times westward into the median.

Johnson was fatally injured and died at the scene.

Northbound Route 15 was closed while troopers were investigating. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but police say alcohol is not a factor.
