A  judge has sentenced a man to 40 years behind bars for home invasion and armed robbery.

Kevin Darnell Carroll, 46 of Baltimore was convicted of breaking and entering a Germantown Home, tying up and robbing two occupants at gunpoint.

The incident stemmed from the victim's father, Terry Dowless' gambling habits.

The suspects reportedly tracked Terry Dowless' vehicle from late October 2015 to mid November 2015 as he drove to and from Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore.

Knowing Dowless was in possession of substantial amounts of cash, the suspects scouted the outside of Dowless residence on Kelley Farm Drive.

On November 17, 2015 Dowless' two children left to get something to eat. While departing, they noticed an unknown vehicle parked at a nearby intersection. Upon their return at 8:10 in the evening, the suspects followed the victims inside their home and proceeded to rob them.

The suspects fled the property with around $6,000.00 belonging to Terry Dowless, and one of his kids I-phones.

According to the Office of the States Attorney for Montgomery County, at least one suspect remains at large.
