The man accused of beating a 9-year-old to death over a piece of birthday cake is due in court today.
Robert Wilson is one of three people charged in the death of Jack Garcia. Wilson is facing a number of charges, including second-degree murder and child abuse.
The 9-year-old boy dies in July after police say Wilson, his mother's boyfriend, handcuffed and beat him for taking a piece of cake without permission.
His mother, Oriana Garcia, turned paramedics away when they were first called to the home, saying that he didn't need medical attention. Jack Garcia died four hours later.
The mother and her brother, also facing second-degree murder charges, will appear in court next month.
