List of top 5 safest cities in Maryland released

A new report shows which cities in Maryland are the safest.

The National Council for Home Safety and Security released their listfor 2017.

The top five cities include:

1. Ocean Pines
2. Taneytown
3. Glenarden
4. Bowie
5. Hampstead

The list is compiled based on the most recent FBI crime report statistics, and expands to include the Top 30 cities in the state.

Fruitland, Salisbury and Cumberland rounded out the list.
