Severe winds stormed through Maryland Friday, creating mass havoc.

Roads were forced to close as trees, polls and power lines toppled throughout the state.

Gusts of up to 70 MPH damaged many homes, businesses and vehicles.

Hundreds of thousands of households sustained power outages.

As of 10 pm, 175,000 have had their power restored. BGE reports over 223,000 remain without.

Shelter at Fallston High School has been put in place for those without heating and power.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has declared a state of emergency.
