Crash in Bel Air leaves one person dead

Maryland State Police are investigating the cause of a fatal car crash that left one person dead Friday afternoon. 

The victim, Renee Fleck, 44 was killed after swerving her Toyota Matrix into the southbound lanes on US Route 1 north of Allibone Road. Fleck's car collided with Stephen Kresge, 45, who was driving in a Chevy pickup. Kresge was not injured during the accident.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. They do not believe that alcohol was a contributing factor.

Funeral arrangements for Renee Fleck have been planned for Wednesday in Nottingham. Friends and family plan to gather at Schimunek Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Interment services will follow Thursday at Bel Air Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, family members are asking for donations made in Renee's name to the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Center 301 Stockholm St., Baltimore, MD 21230 or the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 15829 Arlington, VA 22215.
