Cybertip leads to child porn arrest

A cybertip led to the arrest of a Thurmont man on child porn charges, police said.

Police charged Charles Snedegar Jr., 19 of Thurmont with two counts of distribution of child pornography and five counts of possession of child pornography. 

Members of the Maryland State Police Internet Crimes against Children Task Force along with Homeland Security and FBI agents arrested Snedegar at his home Friday morning. A preliminary forensic investigation of computer equipment seized at the scene indicated multiple video files of child pornography.

Snedegar was taken to the Frederick County Detention Center.

Correction sent in 2nd email: The suspect is identified as Charles Snedegar, Jr., 19, of Thurmont, Md.  He is charged with two counts of distribution of child pornography and five counts of possession of child pornography.  Snedegar was arrested at his home and transported to the Frederick County Detention Center.
