Cardin sails through primary beating out Chelsea Manning and six other challengers

Sitting Maryland United States Senator Ben Cardin has sailed through Tuesday's Democratic Primary election.

Cardin, looking to serve his third term in the U.S. Senate defeated seven other challengers including convicted leaker Chelsea Manning.

The AP called the race at around 9:40 p.m. Last count had 20% votes in and Cardin showing a commanding 83% lead with 182,979 votes. At last check Chelsea Manning collected 5% of votes.
