DERWOOD, Md. (WMAR) — Customers at a Montgomery County Starbucks received a brief scare on Monday after a car crashed through one of the stores glass windows.

The incident occurred at the Starbucks located at 8010 Gramercy Boulevard in Derwood.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue's Chief Spokesperson, Pete Piringer, said the vehicle jumped the sidewalk and first struck an outside table. The car then reportedly broke through the stores plate glass window.

Piringer says the driver spilled hot tea in his lap, possibly contributing to the cause of the crash.

No serious injuries were reported.
