Medical examiners determined Sonya Y. Smith died from multiple gunshot wounds Thursday morning.
The 55-year-old’s body was found at her home in the 23000-block of Foxville Road, Smithburg, Md. Relatives called state troopers to check on her when they discovered her body.
State Police homicide investigators charged the victim’s boyfriend, Anthony M. Minnick, 26, with Smith’s murder, after his arrest.
Minnick had a bond hearing Friday in Washington County where he was ordered to be held without bail.
