AAA: Md. drivers paying $1.98 per gallon

Motorists in Maryland are paying 2 cents less at the pump when compared with a week ago.

AAA Mid-Atlantic said Thursday in a report that the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Maryland was $1.98, down from $2.00 a week ago.

The price of gas in the state is two cents below the national average of $2.00.

The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in cities around the state includes $1.95 in Baltimore, $1.95 in Cumberland, $2.02 in Hagerstown and $1.89 in Salisbury.

Motorists in the state are paying 45 cents less per gallon than at this time last year when the average price of a gallon of regular gas was $2.43 per gallon.
