A 72-year-old woman and 10-year-old child are hospitalized after an accident goes terribly wrong.
On Wednesday Linda Glaser,72, was driving in the 46000 block of Yorktown Road in Lexington Park.
As she approached the area of Suwanne Place, Glaser struck a 10-year-old pedestrian who ran into the roadway from behind an ice cream truck parked on the opposite side of the street.
While remaining on scene with the injured juvenile, law enforcement officials say Glaser was beaten to the point of incapacitation by an unidentified subject in the neighborhood.
The child pedestrian was transported to a local trauma center by helicopter, while Glaser was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
Detectives with the St Mary's County Sheriffs Office are asking anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact them at 301-475-4200.
