BURTONSVILLE, Md (WMAR) — A nearly 2000 pound horse is rescued after being trapped for hours in an old underground cistern.
The incident happened just before 4:45 a.m. on Sunday morning in the 4700 block of Sandy Spring Road in Burtonsville.
Montgomery County Fire officials say the horse named Bravo fell after the cistern collapsed, causing him to become trapped up to his neck.

After about three hours of trench digging, rescue teams were finally able to extricate Bravo. His owner and a veterinarian were on scene and indicated he was okay.

It turns out Bravo is actually a local celebrity and has starred in movies.
