Officers are seeking the public's help in locating suspects in the burglary of a Washington County firearms store and the theft of more than one dozen handguns.

Shortly before 3:00 a.m. on Saturday troopers were called to the Clear Spring Gun Shop on National Pike after the alarm went off. Once on scene responding troopers confirmed a burglary and theft of firearms had just occurred.

Further investigation revealed two suspects forced their way into the business through the front door. The suspects then broke into a gun display case and stole 19 handguns. Police say the suspects were wearing dark clothing and masks. One suspect was carrying a small black colored handgun during the burglary.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft of firearms from the Clear Spring Gun Shop.

Anyone with information is asked to call Maryland State Police at 301-766-3839.
