LAUREL, Md. — Howard County Police said a woman was shot Sunday evening in Laurel.
At 7:42 p.m., officers called to the 9200 block of N. Laurel Road, for a reported shooting. There, they found a woman,conscious and alert.
She was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Investigators believe a group of people had gathered in the parking lot of Laurel Woods Elementary School for a reason unrelated to the school.
