ELKRIDGE, Md. — A Howard County project to replace a water main in Elkridge, is scheduled to begin on or around September 11.

The project will include the replacement of 1,610 linear feet of antiquated cast iron water main with fusible PVC water main along the entire length of westbound Old Lawyers Hill Road.

Weather permitting, this project is expected to be competed by late November.

Therefore, motorists should expect temporary lane shifts and minor interruptions to the flow of traffic during construction hours, which include Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Signs and flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic as needed and signs will be posted to advise motorists of the construction.

Interruptions to public water service is not expected since a temporary water main will be installed to maintain service.

Drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don't follow too closely when traveling through a work zone.
