ELKRIDGE, Md. — A construction project to extend the water main at the intersection of US 1 (Washington Boulevard) and MD 103 (Dorsey Road), in Elkridge, is expected to begin on or around June 17.

Approximately 644 linear feet of 16-inch water main will be installed south of the intersection, along Dorsey Road, to service a proposed, adjacent apartment complex.

Flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic and signs will be posted to alert residents and motorists of the construction, as lane shifts should be expected during construction hours, which are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

One lane of Dorsey Road in each direction near the project, will be closed during construction hours. Additionally, toward the conclusion of the project, paving is expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Weather permitting, the project should be completed by late August.

As a reminder, drivers should remain alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don't follow too closely when traveling through a work zone.
