Howard County Police have identified the two individuals who were found dead in a submerged car in the Little Patuxent River.

Authorities say that 35-year-old Timothy Antonio Jones and 23-year-old Rickell Tareka Brown were the two people found in the 2006 Acura.

Police say a person walking in the area of the Route 108 overpass saw a car in the river and called the police.

Preliminary investigations show that the car went off the Route 108 overpass westbound near Columbia Road and landed in the water.  It is still unknown why the car left the road and what exactly happened.

After roads were closed for about three hours due to the active scene, crews were able to retrieve the vehicle and bodies Friday afternoon.

Investigators believe that the collision happened early Friday morning. Officials are still investigating the incident.
