Student applicant wanted to serve on Howard County Recreation & Parks Advisory Board

COLUMBIA, Md. — Are you a student with an interest in Recreation and Parks? Howard County Executive Calvin Ball is looking for an applicant to serve on the departments advisory board.

The Recreation & Parks Advisory Board is comprised of eight members, including one student, and provides recommendations relating to plans, policies and programs for public recreation, and reviews plans for and holds hearings on the acquisition and development of land for public recreation and open space.

The student will serve a one-year term from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Be a Howard County resident
  • Be enrolled in high school for the 2020-2021 academic year
  • Have an interest in public recreation
  • Be able to attend the Board’s meetings which are held the third Wednesday of each month from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Conference Room #1 at the Department of Recreation and Parks Headquarters in Columbia.

The deadline to apply is Friday, March 20.
