Silver Alert lifted for missing 78-year-old Columbia man

UPDATE: Thomas Black was located in good condition Wednesday morning. Police have lifted the silver alert.


Howard County Police have issued a silver alert for a missing 78-year-old Columbia man.

Police said Thomas Acheson Black, Sr., last spoke to a family member over the phone on July 18 at approximately 6 p.m. while at his home located in the 6200 block of Bird Race.

When the family member arrived at his home the following evening as planned, Mr. Black wasn't there.

The relative then alerted police. Black has medical concerns, according to police. He didn't take his medications with him.

He's likely driving a 1999 white Pontiac Grand AM with Maryland tag HCG626. He's described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 180 pounds, with no hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information should call 911.
