Police investigating string of car thefts at Meadowridge Memorial Cemetery

ELKRIDGE, Md. — Howard County Police are investigating a string of car thefts at Meadowridge Memorial Cemetery.

Police have received four reports of car thefts at Meadowridge Memorial Cemetery since Dec. 6. A fifth car theft took place in a commercial parking lot in the 7800 block of Washington Boulevard during the same timeframe.

In the most recent case, the victim reported she was within eyesight of her vehicle when it was broken into. She told police that the suspects left driving a Dodge Charger.

Police said officers who work in the area have been made aware and will be conducting increased area checks at Meadowridge Memorial Cemetery.

According to police, in three cases, the vehicle had been left unlocked, while a window was broken in two of the thefts.

Officers are encouraging everyone to refrain from leaving valuables in their vehicle, even for just a few minutes.
