Howard County student threatens district superintendent; claims to be a joke

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. — Police are investigating a threat made by a River Hill student to harm the Howard County Public School System superintendent.

Howard County Police Department has informed WMAR-2 News, that the threat was a "joke" by the student and not imminent. The threat was posted to the social media app TikTok a few weeks ago and has since been deleted.

HCPD says the investigation is ongoing with a possibility that charges may be filed.

Officers will likely have a presence at the hearing this evening.
