COLUMBIA, Md. — A Howard County Police officer was hospitalized following a rollover crash in Columbia on Thursday afternoon.
It happened around 2:10pm, along US-29 near MD-175.
Department officials told WMAR-2 News the officer "lost control while attempting to avoid another vehicle that had switched lanes in front of it."
The officer was not attempting a traffic stop at the time, nor did they have their emergency lights and siren activated.
Luckily, the officer sustained only minor injuries. They were taken to Shock Trauma as a precaution, and later released.
