Howard County police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 7-year-old boy from Ellicott City who did not return home after he left the school on an unknown bus.
Lana Owen Ayara, a student at Hollifield Station Elementary School, exited the bus as he normally does shortly before 4 p.m. at his West Springs Drive and Sonia Trail bus stop.
Officers are working with school staff to determine on what bus Ayara left Hollifield Station and are speaking with bus drivers at the school.
Police and Howard County Fire & Rescue also are conducting extensive searches in the area to include the use of drones.
Ayara is 3'4" and weighs 43 pounds.
He was seen wearing to school a white and gray t-shirt with blue and red lines (as seen in the picture), a black jacket with a hood, black jeans, and white Adidas tennis shoes.
Anyone who sees him should call 911.
