Howard County police are searching for the driver of a white Honda Accord who was involved in a hit-and-run on Halloween.

An Elkridge man was hit and injured around 7:30 p.m. Monday in the 8000 block of Green Tree Court. According to police, the 64-year-old man was transported to Howard County General Hospital. He was treated and released.

Witnesses reported that a white, 2-door Honda Accord with dark tinted windows pulled up the court and a child got out of the car. The driver remained in the car while the child trick-or-treated. The Honda then sped through the court to pick up the child.

The neighborhood was having a block party and neighbors told the driver to slow down. After the child got back into the car, it sped away and hit a pedestrian.

Police do not have a description of the driver. A female passenger who exited the vehicle to pick up the child was described as a black female, early 20s, wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap.

Police are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information on this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-3200.
