COLUMBIA, Md. (WMAR) — Howard County Police say three of their officers saved a suicidal man from jumping off a bridge.

Corporal Moulton and Private First Class Myers and Reed were called Monday to Route 40 at the Baltimore and Howard County line.

When they arrived, they found a man standing on the edge of a bridge, threatening to jump.

The officers were able to secure the man to prevent him from jumping and convince him to step back from a ledge and back to safety.

Police say the man was then taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation.
