House completely destroyed after blaze in Ellicott CIty

A house in West Ellicott City is completely destroyed after a fire broke out just before midnight. 

Howard County Fire and Rescue were notified of a tree fire on Triadelphia Road south of Fredrick Road.

While units from West Friendship fire station responded, another call came out stating a house was on fire and there were people possible trapped inside.

First responding units found the house engulfed in flames and the roof beginning to collapse.

Firefighters soon learned the occupants of the house were able to get out prior to crews arriving.

The fire was under control in about 45 minutes, but it took almost two hours to completely extinguish the fire.

The home is considered a total loss. The affected family has made arrangements for shelter, officials say.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries in this incident.

The approximate value of the home was $650,000.
