A Howard County Police Officer went above and beyond on Friday while helping a girl with a broken bike.
The girl called 911 after her bike broke on the way to school. The back wheel fell off and she couldn't get it back on, and that is her only way to get to school. An officer showed up and drove her to school, but he didn't stop there.
While he was dropping off the girl, some teachers told him how great she was and that she is a hard-working student. When looking at her bike and seeing it was rusted, broken, and the only way to school, he decided to take a trip to Walmart.
The officer bought her a brand new purple bike, helmet, and a lock so she could get to school on time every day. He said the look on her face was priceless when she saw her new ride.
