Eroded pipe getting makeover to protect local wastewater plant

Posted

Construction teams will be fixing an eroding pipe and preventing future embankment erosion starting on Monday.

The discharge pipe at 8300 Brock Bridge Road serves the Little Patuxent Wastewater Reclamation Plant in Howard County.

The pipe has been partially exposed to heavy erosion caused by the Little Patuxent River, and will be armored in stone.

Crews will also be taking steps to correct, and prevent, any future embankment erosion. They plan on doing this by stabilizing the river channel using stone.

Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by October. It is not expected to impact the flow of traffic in the area.
