After being devastated by flooding at the end of May, Ellicott City's Main Street is reopening to two-way vehicular traffic Friday, July 20 at 5 p.m.

Howard County Executive Allan H. Kittleman will also sign an Executive Order ending the town's State of Emergency.

Parking will remain prohibited between Maryland Avenue and Old Columbia Pike, with short term parking for unloading and loading allowed. Parking west of Old Columbia Pike is permitted.

The site is an active construction zone, with contractors and equipment present, and dumpsters still on the street. Motorists are asked to use extreme caution and keep speeds below 25 miles per hour.

Ellicott Mills Drive is expected to remain closed through the fall.
