Ellicott City's history is dotted with floods and subsequent cleanup dating as far back as the 1700s.

In 1868, the Patapsco River rose to more than 21 feet, killing around 40 people. More recently, Hurricane Agnes and damage from Tropical Storm Lee stick out in the minds of long-time Marylanders.
