Crews responded to an electrical fire at Glenwood Middle School in Howard County Tuesday afternoon.
Route 97 has been shut down in both directions between Carrs Mill Road and Burntwoods Road as crews contain the fire.
Howard County fire officials report that the blaze was contained to the electrical panel in the boiler room.
Students have been evacuated to Glenwood Elementary School as a safety precaution. All students have been accounted for, according to officials.
Fire officials warn drivers to expect delays.
