Travelers in Clarksville may need to navigate road construction starting July 23.
A portion of the roadway near the 6700 block of Haviland Mill Road will be adjusted for a developer's project, the Howard County Department of Public Works said. Weather permitting, the project should be completed by mid-August.
The construction involves "vertical reconstruction of the roadway to provide sufficient sight distance in the vicinity of the Estates at Mill Creak subdivision," the department said in a statement.
A portion of Haviland Mill Road near the construction site will be closed to through traffic. A detour will lead motorists on a clearly marked path along Brighton Dam Road and New Hampshire Avenue. Message boards and signs will alert drivers to closures and detours.
Drivers can also call 410-313-3637 for a recorded message with details about the project and affected traffic patterns.
