One police department is working on bringing together a community over a cup of coffee.
The first Thursday of every month is 'Coffee with a Cop' with the Howard County Police Department. Thursday's event is at Riverside Coffee on Stanford Boulevard in Columbia starting at 9 a.m.
'Coffee with a Cop' is a national initiative supported by the Department of Justice.
