The Cooking Channel's new show "Cake Hunters" will feature three Maryland bakeries in its newest episode airing Wednesday.
Kupcake & Co. in Elkridge will compete against La Cakerie in Towson and Sweet Thing Black Orchid in Waldorf.
In each episode, three bakeries compete in taste and design, vying to be the winning bakery to make a cake for a select party host's big event.
This will be the seventh episode of "Cake Hunters." The episode, titled "Mint for Each Other," features a couple with opposing ideas about their wedding cake and only two weeks left until their wedding.
One of the bakeries featured, Kupcakes & Co., is owned by Michelle and Bill Kupiec. The couple opened their bakery in 2011 with the help of their twin daughters, Amanda and Allison.
Now the Kupiec family is taking their love of baking to the small screen.
"It was so exciting being able to have the TV crew film what we do here every day," said Michelle Kupiec. "The most exciting part was getting to meet the couple featured in the episode and bake for them."
On Thursday, the day after their "Cake Hunters" episode premiere, Kupcakes & Co. will serve cupcake versions of the cake featured in the show. The bakery also serves more than 110 varieties of cake.
"I want people to see how authentic and passionate we are. Our cake decorators are amazing. They're the real deal," said Kupiec. "They take what the clients says and make it come to life in cake form."
The episode will air Wednesday, June 29 at 10 p.m. on The Cooking Channel.
