15-year-old boy in critical condition after being shot in Elkridge

Howard County police are investigating a shooting that happened Saturday morning that left a 15-year-old boy in critical condition.

Police were called to the 6400 block of Greenfield Road around 11:46 a.m. for a reported shooting.

Upon arrival police discovered a 15-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound and a 16-year-old relative standing outside the apartment building.

The victim was airlifted to Maryland Shock Trauma and is currently listed in critical condition.

Detectives are investigating whether the shooting may have been accidental and how the teenage boys got a gun.
