ABERDEEN, Md. (WMAR) — Two Aberdeen Police officers were almost seriously injured Wednesday night, after a suspected drunk driver sideswiped their patrol car during a traffic stop.

It happened just before 11 p.m. on the shoulder of Route 40 near Route 7.

The crash was caught on the body worn camera of Corporal Bodine.

In the video, Bodine is seen walking back to the driver's side of the police car, when a loud crashing sound is heard.

Sergeant Helf is also seen and was in the front passenger seat of the police car at the time it was hit.

After the crash, Bodine is heard saying he's okay. Though it's unclear in the video, officials say he avoided being struck by quickly jumping onto the vehicle's rocker panel.

The driver, 55-year-old Ralph Green of Belcamp, remained on scene and was arrested and charged with DUI/DWI, Reckless, and Negligent Driving.
