A truck sitting in the driveway of a Harford County home caught on fire and spread to the roof of the home Saturday evening. The Office of the State Fire Marshal says fortunately a neighbor saw the fire and reported it, as the fire was outside and had not been detected by inside smoke detectors.
Crews responded to the home at 1339 Macton Rd in Street, the fire spread to the attic of the second floor bedroom causing extensive soot, water and fire debris damage.
50 firefighters responded to the 2-alarm fire and were able to get it under control in 45 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
The Fire Marshal estimates the financial loss of the structure at $40,000 and the contents at $10,000.
Friends and family are assisting those who lived in the home.
