Crews were called to a small fire that started on the outside of a church in Joppa early Tuesday morning. According to the State Fire Marshal, two firefighters responded to the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church on Joppa Farm Rd just before 6:30 a.m. after a church staff member noticed a small fire on the outside of the building. The fire was put out in five minutes with an estimated loss of $500.00.

Officials determined the cause as incendiary, someone for an unknown reason igniting combustibles.
