Maryland State Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened in Forest Hill on Monday.
Around 12:40 Monday afternoon 4 vehicles were involved in a crash on Route 23 and Grafton Shop Road.
The road is under construction and flag crews were in place directing traffic because the road was reduced to one lane.
Police say the driver of a blue Subaru Forester, 27-year-old Georgina Schulz, failed to stop for the slower traffic and struck the back of a Toyota Sequoia. The impact forced a chain reaction crash.
Schulz was taken by ambulance to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The operator of the Toyota was also injured and taken to the hospital, no update on their condition at this time.
Route 23 was closed for 2 hours while the Maryland State Police crash team investigated the crash.
