National Roof Deployment Project gives local veteran new roof

Posted

A Baltimore area veteran received a new roof Thursday thanks to the Owens Corning's National Roof Deployment Project.

Owens Corning platinum contractors worked with Habitat for Humanity for the project to provide roofs to veterans and their families in need.

U.S. Air Force and Navy veteran Maurice James received his new roof Thursday.

"This gentelman served in the Navy and the Air Force. He's lived here for 42 years with his family. He's really needing to fix his home up and make it nice for him so he can spend the rest of his years here,” said Terry Hottle, a home rehabilitation supervisor with Habitat for Humanity.

Materials for the new roof were donated by Owens Corning, and all labor for the installation was covered by the Brothers Services Company.
